9/2006 Petaluma High School now has new mentor/mentee relationships with 4 incoming freshmen. These students had mentors in junior high and they will continue with their mentors at the high school. 8/2006 Mary Collins School at Cherry Valley joined the MMP family of schools this year. Stacey Almy, a parent of three children at the school, has volunteered to get the mentor center up and running and to coordinate the program this year. Stacey says, "I know the program will flourish at our school, as it has everywhere, and I am excited to help it grow. It is one more chance to save the world one child at a time. " 6/2006 An Anonymous Donor has graciously presented Mentor Me Petaluma with a $75,000 donation this spring. Board members were delighted to be able to fund some crucial needs of the program. 12/2005 Mentor Me Petaluma is proud to announce it has received a Health and Human Services grant from the Community Foundation Sonoma County in the amount of $25,000.00. Mentor Me Petaluma is currently serving 70 children at six Petaluma schools. This grant will make it possible to open two more Mentor Centers, at McKinley and McDowell Schools.
